Dr. Mohamed Afjal completed his MBBS from Rajiv Gandhi University, Bangalore, and Masters in General Surgery at Yenepoya University, Mangalore, and DNB Surgery from BE, Delhi. He worked as fellow in Hepato pancreatico biliary & Liver transplantation at Sir Ganga Ram hospital, Delhi.

         He came back to Yenepoya medical college and joined as a senior resident for a period of 2 years during which he was involved in training undergraduate & post–graduate students. He had training in laparoscopy from Maharashtra and obtained minimal access surgery fellowship from Amasi at SGPGI, Lucknow.

          Dr. Afjal then joined as a senior clinical fellow in Dept of  astro Surgery and Liver transplantation at Gleneagles Global Hospitals. He has also qualified for Dubai Health Authority examination.  He is a member of minimal access surgeons of India, Association of Surgeons of India, European Hernia society, European society of surgical oncology, and member of international Liver transplant society. His areas of expertise include laparoscopic gall bladder surgery, laparoscopic appendix surgery, laparoscopic hernia repair, Laser and stapler procedure for hemorrhoids (piles), Laser procedure for fistula. Advanced laparoscopy for Gastro intestinal cancer.
